Cleaning Your Microwave -the EASY way!

Awhile ago I came across a pin on Pinterest about using vinegar to clean your microwave.  I found it here at Crafty Little Gnome.  And guess what?  It worked!  BIG TIME!  It was the easiest thing ever -I will never go back.

Just pour some vinegar in a bowl, pop it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes.  Then take the bowl out and wipe down the microwave.  The vinegar loosens up all the grimy stuff on the inside -making it easy to wipe off without all that SCRUBBING.  If you need to, pop that bowl back in for a few more minutes and repeat.

So what are you waiting for?  Go clean your microwave! haha.  And have a happy weekend!

Foodie Friday #29 - Tortellini and Sausage

Well I'm back! I still feel a bit like a chicken with my head cut off after this move but life is starting to get back on track.

So, to get the ball rolling again, let's start with something really EASY, shall we? Thanks goes to {one of} my fabulous sister-in-law for the idea.

I bought a 3-pack of Olivieri tortellini for pretty cheap at the grocery store the other day so I made it up the way my sister-in-law does for their family.

Boil the tortellini according to the directions on the package -do NOT over cook. While that is cooking slice some sausage (this time I used the fully cooked kind). Pan fry the sausage slices until cooked and browned.

Drain the tortellini. Add the sausage. Add some heated marinara sauce or sauce of your choice (I used Prego) and some Parmesan cheese. Mix gently. Enjoy!

It's so easy and quick for those hectic nights but it's delicious! And my kids ALL ate it and wanted more! That's quite an accomplishment in my house.

On a side note this is my first attempted post using my iPhone so cross your fingers that it will work properly.

Taking a break

Hi everyone.
Just wanted to give you the heads up that I probably won't be posting much until after March 17th.  I may still do the occasional post, but life will shortly get very hectic with the move so I'm going to take a short break from blogging to do "move stuff".

Take care,
Megan

Foodie Friday #28 -Stuffed Crust Pizza

There seems to be something inside me that just loves pizza on Fridays.  I don't know why, but that's just the way it is.  We tend to have pizza fairly often at my house: (A) because it's so darn delicious, and (B) because my kids will actually eat it -lots of it!

Because we eat it so often, I decided that I wanted to try something a little different -you know, spice it up a bit.  So I tried to make my own Stuffed Crust Pizza.  I rolled the crust out extra big so it hung off the edges of the pan a bit.  Then I put some cheese on the crust in a circle all around the edge of the pan and folded the extra dough back over the cheese.  Then I pinched the seam closed and made the pizza as normal.

It was delicious as always.  Next time I will have to put a bit more cheese in the crust, but all in all it was a worthwhile experiment.  Have a great Friday, everyone!  Hooray for the weekend!
